KARACHI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is going to commence three weekly flights from Karachi to Bangkok from Sep 16, Chairman PIA Irfan Illahi said on Friday, 25 August, at the occasion of curtain raising ceremony held at PIA head office Karachi.
The commencement of Karachi to Bangkok sector will increase the number of destinations on PIA’s network to 50 including both international and domestic routes. The national flag carrier will operate A320 aircraft for direct flights between Karachi and Bangkok.
Secretary Aviation and Chairman PIA Irfan Elahi expressed his satisfaction on the finalization and commencement of flight operations to Bangkok.
“With the induction of new aircrafts in fleet more destinations will be added to PIA’s network” said Mr. Elahi
The passengers will now be able to travel directly to Bangkok with convenient timings and swift connections for the passengers travelling from other major cities of Pakistan.
As the airline spreading its wings very carefully and choosing good destinations traffic wise, Bangkok would be the second destination to be added to the PIA network in September as the airline already announced commencement of flights to Najaf in Iraq from Sept 14, the statement added.
