KARACHI: Mr. Sertan Yuce, the General Manager of Turkish Airlines (TK) Karachi accompanied by his team Mr. Muhammad Umer Khan, Sales Manager, and Mr. Muhammad Imran, Sales Executive visited TAAP Head Office on November 16, 2023, to meet the Vice Chairman (South Zone) and Senior Members of TAAP.

Mr. Muhammad Raza, Vice Chairman (South Zone) TAAP accorded a warm welcome and thanked Mr. Yuce and his team for visiting the TAAP office to meet with the TAAP Executive Committee and Senior Members and requesting to brief about Turkish Airlines, business activities, and plans.

Mr. Muhammad Nadeem Sharif, former Chairman TAAP also accorded a welcome and thanks for giving the time to an interactive meeting with TAAP.

The honourable guest in his briefing visualized the business activities and plans of TK that will be more facilitative for agents and passengers. He said TK’s partnership with agents is considered the most important in TK’s growth of quality service to passengers.

The Participants from TAAP were apprised of TK policy on reduced RBD, and high fare for agents on GDS, as against much lower online/ TK website, where principal competing with agents result in low TK sales by agents. Group Fare is also on the higher side resulting in traffic switching over to other destinations. High visa fees by Anatolia including mandatory insurance also reason for slow traffic on Turkey destinations.

TAAP also reiterated its efforts to use the TAAP platform with various Government authorities in resolving the release of remittance of Airlines a few months ago. TAAP emphasized reviewing TK policy for improvement in the promotion of Turkish Tourism.

He said that based on the destination, travel class, and country in which the reservation is made options are configured automatically, under the authority lies with the Head Office, however, we try our best to facilitate the agents.

Concluding the meeting Vice Chairman TAAP once again thanks for giving us an opportunity and hope and wish the relations to be further strengthened between Turkish Airlines and the travel industry of Pakistan.

Mr. Yuce thanked for the honor given, hospitality, love, and affection of travel agents and assured me his commitment next year will be more energized for maintaining travel agents & TK business relationships.

Mementos of TAAP were presented to Mr. Setan Yuce, the General Manager, and Mr. Muhammad Umer Khan, the Sales Manager. The General Manager of Turkish Airlines also presented the TK Shield and Model Aeroplane to TAAP. The meeting ended with a thanksgiving note by Vice Chairman TAAP.
