PESHAWAR: On the occasion of the World Tourism Day, Landmark Communications, pioneer of Pakistan Travel Mart along with Tourism Corporation KPK and The Hashoo Group, owners of Pakistan’s Pearl-Continental Hotels, The Marriott Hotels, and the Hotel One brand, reaffirmed their commitment to boosting tourism in the country.

“We are the pioneers of hospitality in Pakistan, and we know that tourism has immense potential here. We operate the largest portfolio of hotels across the country, and we plan to add many more in the next few years, said Murtaza Hashwani, chairman & CEO of the Hashoo Group.

From Skardu in the north to Gwadar in the south, and every major city in between, “we offer local and international travelers exceptional service at our hotels,” he said. And through the Hashoo Foundation, “we provide much-needed vocational training to thousands of people who want to work in the hospitality industry,” he said.

Hashoo Group is a main sponsor of the Pakistan Travel Mart for the second year in a row, which will be held in Karachi from Oct 2 to Oct 4 and is expected to draw thousands of local and international visitors. Over the past four decades, Hashoo Group set the benchmark for hospitality in the country.

While highlighting the importance of tourism Mr. Ali Hamdani, CEO – Landmark Communications said: “We have heritage, we have enriched culture and regions with vast natural beauty we have hospitality to offer. It brings me an immense pleasure and pride to share that Pakistan Travel Mart has created avenues to not only explore the untapped potential of Pakistan as tourist country  but also helped in identifying the role of tourism industry as a significant contributor in the economic wellbeing of the country.”

With dozens of hotels across Pakistan and four new hotels opening in the next year in Malam Jabba, Mirpur, Multan, and Hayatabad, the company provides thousands of jobs both directly in its hotels, as well as indirectly through its supply chain. In support of the new government’s decision to set tourism at the top of its agenda, Hashoo Group will continue to be a key player in driving growth in the tourism industry.

The Chief Guest, Senior Minister Muhammad Atif Khan  said that Tourism Department is being linked with the Management Information System (MIS) and its online App to facilitate tourists and attract more visitors to the scenic places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He further said provincial government had a vision to present Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a tourism brand to the world. He vowed to introduce world class tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
