KARACHI: Beach Luxury Hotel as part of its sustainability initiatives towards environmentally-friendly practices for a Greener Society invited Team Cycologists to execute a dedicated cycling ride as part of the hotel’s ‘Go Green’ drive.

Beach Luxury Hotel being the only resort hotel in city of Karachi was established on March 21, 1948. This four star hotel also holds the honor for being the first internationally-acclaimed hotel established at Karachi after the independence of Pakistan. It is nestled adjacent to the city’s financial & business hub I.I. Chundrigar Road, set amongst lush tropical gardens and palm trees, offering panoramic view of the Arabian Sea creek leading to Karachi Harbor with acres of natural mangroves that offer a very charming and relaxed atmosphere.
Since there is an increased emphasis for a Greener Pakistan to combat with climate change and global warming challenges, Beach Luxury and Cycologists teamed up for this initiative. The objective of the ride was also to encourage the citizens to adopt cycling as a healthy activity and a pollution-free mode of transport.
At the break of dawn over 50 cyclists paddled from Zamzama through the streets of Clifton, cycling by I. I. Chundgrigar Road all the way to Lalazaar.
Upon reaching the hotel, the Cycologists group was warmly greeted by the staff of Beach Luxury Hotel who provided a guided tour of the building and shared a brief history reminiscing its journey over 6 decades.
The cyclists also planted saplings at the Hotel with their team and pledged to demonstrate a more socially and environmentally responsible behavior towards the motherland.
Cycologists is a DHA Karachi based non-profitable, easy Cycling and Social meet up group that brings together those interested in cycling and improving their health and fitness. The group organizes rides every Saturday and few regular days of the week with routes ranging from regular streets to the highlights of Karachi.
