KARACHI: On Sunday, October 13, Muhammad AminUllah, Country Head of Emmar Al Diyafa Hotels, hosted a seminar celebrating the 94th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event, titled “Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Relations: Past, Present, and Future,” gathered senior travel industry professionals and Hajj and Umrah operators in Karachi to discuss the historic and growing ties between the two nations.

His Excellency Abdul Rehman Saad, Acting Consul General of Saudi Arabia in Karachi, served as the chief guest, while Muhammad Tahir Ashrafi, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) and Special Aide to the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony and the Middle East, and Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani were among the keynote speakers.

Muhammad AminUllah opened the seminar by welcoming the distinguished guests and highlighting the deep-rooted relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He thanked Saudi Arabia for its consistent support, particularly in the economic and religious sectors, including facilitating Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

During his address, Mr. Ashrafi emphasized the long-standing Pak-Saudi relations, which are built on the shared values of religion, culture, and economy. He stressed that the bond between the two nations is unshakeable and has strengthened over time. “Our relations are not dependent on individuals or external forces; they are relations between two brotherly nations,” he stated. He further mentioned Saudi Arabia’s commitment to investment in Pakistan, which promises a brighter future for both countries.

Ashrafi also praised Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support for Pakistan, particularly in times of economic hardship. He highlighted the Kingdom’s “Road to Mekkah” initiative, which has greatly eased the pilgrimage process for Pakistani Hajjis. He also spoke about the unity of the Muslim world, underscoring that the challenges faced by the Ummah, from Palestine to Kashmir, can only be resolved through collective strength and stability.

Saeed Ghani focused on the importance of the Pak-Saudi economic partnership, urging that disturbances during the visits of Saudi delegations, particularly business leaders, harm Pakistan’s national interests. He reinforced the significance of maintaining stability and collaboration to continue benefiting from Saudi investments.

Concluding the event, His Excellency Abdul Rehman Saad reiterated the historical and religious ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, calling their relationship one of mutual respect and strategic importance. He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to improving services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, showcasing the Kingdom’s dedication to serving the global Muslim community.

The seminar was followed by refreshments as attendees networked and discussed the future of Pakistan-Saudi relations.
