Gulf Air, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, will launch direct 5 weekly flights to Baku from 12th June 2018 as part of its 2018 network expansion that coincides with the airline’s new aircraft deliveries, of which 5 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and 2 Airbus A320Neos will enter Gulf Air’s fleet by end-2018.

Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer Mr. Krešimir Kučko commented, “Gulf Air will, for the first time, enter Azerbaijan and the addition of our highly anticipated Baku operations further demonstrates the airline’s strategy of strengthening our network with key global destinations that provide strategic business and tourism links. By connecting Bahrain with Baku we are opening up opportunities for trade, tourism and investment between both countries. We are confident this new route will be a success for our passenger operations, and we look forward to facilitating business and leisure traffic between the two countries and beyond.”

“We have scheduled our Baku operations to serve regional travellers with convenient connections through Bahrain, providing excellent connectivity for travellers flying from the GCC and MENA region,” he concluded.

In Q2 2018 Gulf Air will also launch direct flights to Abha and Tabuk in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This will expand its Saudi Arabia operations to serve 7 cities in total, complementing the airline’s current Dammam, Riyadh, Madina Al Munawarah, Jeddah and Gassim operations. Gulf Air will also launch direct flights to Bangalore and Calicut in India, Alexandria and Sharm El Shaikh in Egypt and Casablanca in Morocco.

Gulf Air operates double daily flights or more to select destinations across the GCC, MENA region, Indian Subcontinent and Europe, providing seamless connectivity for passengers travelling across its network via its efficient Bahrain International Airport hub. Flights can be booked online at www.gulfair.com, by calling the airline’s 24 hour Worldwide Contact Centre on (+973) 17373737, or through any Gulf Air sales offices and approved travel agencies.
