KARACHI: The 5th edition of Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) 2026 concluded successfully on Sunday, April 5, in the city of lights, marking yet another milestone for Pakistan’s travel and tourism industry. Bigger and more vibrant than ever before, the three-day event brought together over 350 prominent national and international brands from the travel, aviation, hospitality, and tourism sectors under one roof.


Despite regional challenges and prevailing uncertainties affecting global travel confidence, PTM 2026 stood out as a powerful symbol of resilience and commitment. The event not only sustained its momentum but also surpassed expectations, reinforcing Pakistan’s growing stature as an emerging tourism destination. In such testing circumstances, the successful execution of PTM reflects the unwavering dedication of its organizers and the strong confidence of industry stakeholders. It further demonstrated that Pakistan’s tourism sector remains dynamic, forward-looking, and ready to engage with the global market.


It is indeed commendable to acknowledge the visionary leadership of Sardar Muhammad Rafiq Khan, Chairman of Bukhari Group, and Mr. Syed Muhammad Ali Hamdani, CEO of Pakistan Travel Mart, along with their teams, for organizing this flagship event that continues to champion the promotion of tourism in Pakistan.
Governor of Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, inaugurated PTM 2026 at the Expo Centre Karachi. Addressing the opening ceremony, he highlighted Pakistan’s unique global appeal, citing its rich cultural heritage, majestic mountains, vast deserts, scenic coastlines, and warm hospitality. He emphasized that the promotion of tourism would not only enhance trade but also contribute significantly to the national economy.



The Governor reiterated that Pakistan’s journey towards development reflects the determination of its people and leadership. He stressed the importance of strengthening tourism and trade ties globally, inviting international visitors to explore Pakistan and consider it their second home. He also lauded the efforts of PTM’s organizers, the business community, and the hospitality sector, stating that such exhibitions play a vital role in advancing the country’s tourism landscape.
Mr. Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, National Coordinator on Tourism to the Prime Minister, congratulated the organizers and praised their unwavering commitment in transforming PTM into a recognized national tourism brand. He remarked that such initiatives are instrumental in projecting a positive image of Pakistan globally and fostering international collaboration. Reflecting on the event’s success, he noted that PTM has evolved into a dynamic platform that effectively connects local potential with global opportunities.



Mr. Aftab ur Rehman Rana, Managing Director of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), also appreciated the remarkable efforts of Bukhari Group and Landmark Communications for successfully hosting an event of such scale and significance.
Chairman Bukhari Group, Sardar Muhammad Rafiq Khan, and Mr. Syed Muhammad Ali Hamdani addressed the inaugural session and expressed their gratitude to exhibitors, partners, and distinguished guests for their overwhelming support.



“Not every dream becomes a reality, but establishing Pakistan Travel Mart as a leading tourism brand is a dream that has transformed into an even greater reality,” said Syed Muhammad Ali Hamdani while speaking to Holiday Weekly at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
PTM 2026 proved to be a highly effective platform, bringing together key stakeholders from across the travel, tourism, aviation, and hospitality sectors with a unified agenda of promoting Pakistan as a premier destination.


The event received strong patronage from all provincial governments, with tourism ministers and secretaries actively participating. A series of high-level conferences, including the Pakistan Hospitality Conference, were held alongside the exhibition.
With the steady rise in domestic tourism, Pakistan’s hotel industry is also witnessing consistent growth, reflected in increasing occupancy rates and expanding infrastructure.
The Tourism Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan also commended the organizers, particularly Mr. Syed Muhammad Ali Hamdani and his team, for their outstanding initiative in promoting Pakistan’s tourism industry, while paying tribute to Sardar Muhammad Rafiq Khan for his invaluable contributions to the sector.
