ABU DHABI: Etihad Airways will launch direct flights to Peshawar, Pakistan, from September 29, 2025, further expanding its footprint in South Asia.

The route will connect Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport with Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar. The new addition makes Peshawar the fourth Pakistani city served by the UAE’s national carrier, joining existing routes to Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore.

Initially operating five times a week, the service will increase to daily flights starting 22 November 2025. Etihad will deploy its Airbus A320 aircraft on the route, configured with eight Business Class and 150 Economy seats.

“We are thrilled to further expand our presence in Pakistan with the launch of our daily service between Abu Dhabi and Peshawar,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways.

“This new route reflects our commitment to providing vital connectivity for travellers between Pakistan and the Gulf, Africa, Europe, and North America,” he added. “In addition to new flights to Peshawar, we are boosting our frequency to Karachi to 17 flights a week from 1 October.”

The launch of the Peshawar route follows Etihad’s recent expansion to Addis Ababa and marks the airline’s 16th new destination in 2025. Other new routes announced this year include Prague, Warsaw, Algiers, Tunis, and Atlanta.

Etihad is also increasing frequencies to several major European cities, including Paris, Milan, Manchester, Frankfurt, Zurich, and Madrid, as part of its ongoing global expansion strategy.
