ANKARA: Passengers on a flight from Ankara to Trabzon escaped a horrific end after the plane skidded off the runway and down the side of a cliff, said a report. The Pegasus Airline plane ended up halfway down the steep slope, stopping stopping just metres short of the sea, said a report in The Telegraph. All 162 passengers and crew on board miraculously escaped uninjured. Authorities are yet to determine what caused the plane to veer off the runway, the report said.
PRAGUE: One of Prague’s major tourist attractions, its medieval astronomical clock, was stopped last week, and is to be taken away for months for major repairs. The clock last performed its hourly show of the 12 apostles and other figures for crowds of visitors to the Czech capital on Monday last.
