BEIJING: In its latest effort to increase pressure on Taiwan, Beijing said it will suspend a program that allowed individual tourists from 47 Chinese cities to travel to Taiwan, citing the current state of relations between the two sides. ISLAMABAD: PakistanCivil AviationAuthority (PCAA) a day after making plastic wrapping, an extra layer of protection over the baggage, of all check-in luggage mandatory at all airports of the country, retracted its decision following social media backlash. The watchdog had ordered all air travellers to have their checked baggage shrink-wrapped, drawing scorn and criticism from frequent flyers and environmentalists. Mr. Shahrukh Nusrat, Director General of CAA, had said that wrapping baggage was now “mandatory”, and it was being done for “safety” purposes.
