ROME: Top International aviation training organization, Airways Aviation, is inviting aspiring airline pilots in Italy to enter to win a place on its global scholarship program at Pilots Careers Live in Rome on Saturday 25th November.

In an effort to reduce barriers to entering the pilot profession, Airways Aviation is offering potential aviators in Italy the chance to win a scholarship of €40,000 that will see their airline pilot training part-funded by the aviation training specialists.

Romy Howatt, Founder and Shareholder, Airways Aviation says: “The world is in need of airline pilots and we understand that for many potential aviators, financial constraints make it difficult to pursue a career as a pilot. Following a significant increase in enquiries, we have spent the last few months recruiting aspiring pilots from all over Europe and have had a great response to our eight scholarship initiatives launched to date.

“Training to be a pilot is a complex, challenging and character-building learning experience which is why our course syllabus not only covers the demanding technical requirements of pilot training, but also includes personal and professional development at every stage of the process.

“Pilots Careers Live Rome is the ideal event for us to announce this opportunity for would-be pilots in the region to train to be part of the next generation of top airline pilots. I encourage all aspiring pilots to come to the event, being hosted at the Sheraton Roma Hotel & Conference Center, to take the first important step towards a professional pilot career.”

Before the 31st of January 2018, interested applicants will need to register and complete an online application form, confirm they have had an EASA medical and indicate when they are looking to start their training. Airways Aviation will then invite a number of candidates to its headquarters in Oxford, United Kingdom, to take the industry-standard COMPASS test, for which they will need to pay a €50 administration fee. Once the test results are produced only the top-scoring candidates will be invited to complete a bespoke application form to apply for the scholarship program.

The scholarship process will be rigorous, involving a written English test and a panel interview in Oxford. The successful applicants will be notified by the end of April 2018 with a view to starting their pilot training as early as May 2018.
