KARACHI: The champion will represent Karachi in the World Golf Cup Grand Final of Turkish Airlines, flying to more countries than any other airline, arrived in Karachi at Defence Authority Country & Golf Club for the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup on the16th February. Attendance for the event was high while local high-profile figures and members of the business community were also present.
Established in 2013, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup comprises 100tournaments held around the globe at world-class facilities with over 8,000 players in total competing against one another.
The winners of this year’s tournament will qualify for the Grand Finals in Antalya in November, when they have the chance to secure a place in the Turkish Airlines Open pro-am, and will fly Business Class with Turkish Airlines to stay at a five-star golf resort on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast.
Representing Karachi, Sultan Mahmood secured his position as the champion with 43 points, while Aftab Nihal was runner-up, and Adnan Mahmood came third. The Nearest the Pin competition on the seventh hole was won by Adnan Mahmood for the men’s category and Annia Farooq for the women’s. Annia Farooq won the lowest gross score with 76.

KARACHI: Turkish Airlines brought its ever-growing Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup 2018 to Karachi, held at DHA Golf Club last week.
Flying to 121 countries through more than 300 destinations worldwide, the airline prides itself on its award-winning Business Class service and its commitment to the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, which has more than 8,000 invited guests competing in more than 100 tournaments around the world, together with many other innovative and distinguished services, performed for offering its passengers an unparalleled flight experience.
The Karachi event was well supported by the local Golfers and was very well attended.
Speaking on award distributing ceremony Mr. FatihAtacan TEMEL, General Manager Turkish Airlines Karachi said “that this is the fifth time Turkish Airlines is organizing a golf tournament in Karachi. This event is a global affair and we initiated this event in 2012 but in Karachi we started in 2014. We hope to continue this for many years because every year there is an increase of participation and interest in our tournament and of course this tournament is the perfect opportunity to meet with corporate teams and customers of the respective city. I thank you all for taking time out and attending the event.”
Mr. Haider Jafri won the Karachi tournament and will participate in the final of Turkish Airlines World Cup 2018 in Turkey. Mr. Shujauddin Ahmed was the runner up and Mr. Bilal Shoukat was at 3rd position. MsAania Farooq Syed also performed well and remained nearest to the Pin.
Agha Ahmed Husain, Sales Manager Turkish Airlines congratulated the winners and told that similar event will take place in Lahore and Islamabad also.
