LAHORE: Pakistan Tourism Industry – “Opportunities & Prospects” session was co-hosted by Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab “TDCP” & Landmark Communications which is Pakistan Travel Mart, the biggest International Travel & Tourism Expo of Pakistan to be held from 2-4 October 2018 in Expo Center Karachi. Tourism Minister of Punjab Mr. Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfaraz was the chief guest of the event.

Mr. Muhammad Ali Hamdani – CEO – Landmark Communications briefed the audience about Pakistan Travel Mart and its significance to promote inbound and domestic tourism in Pakistan. Mr. Hamdani told the audience that more than 20 countries shall participate in Pakistan Travel Mart 2018 along-with leading local & international airlines, hotels, travel agents and tour operators.
Mr. Yasir Humayun Sarfaraz said that government has tourism at the top of its priorities and activities based tourism shall be promoted. He emphasized the need of public private partnership. He also acknowledged the importance, significance and contribution of Pakistan Travel Mart in promoting tourism in Pakistan.
Mr. Haseeb Gardezi-Chief Operating Officer of Hashoo Group’s Hospitality Division assured the complete support of Hashoo Group for Pakistan Travel Mart’s initiative, as its hospitality partner for the promotion of tourism industry in Pakistan.
Mr. Mohammad Ayub – Secretary Tourism-Government of Punjab, Mr. Mian Shakeel – MD TDCP and Mr. Asjad Ghani Tahir-GM TDCP presented the tourism promotion initiative of TDCP and its future strategy, thereby assuring to support this event wholeheartedly.
Sardar Mohammad Rafiq khan-Chairman Bukhari Group, talked about the importance of tourism and travel industry in generating economic growth, creating employment and depicting positive image of the country. While discussing the opportunities and prospects that PTM will bring to the country, he emphasized that the entire travel industry should support Pakistan Travel Mart in their mission.
Mr. Iftikhar Hamdani – Cluster GM Ramada Hotels Ajman, stressed on the innovation and adoption of international best practices in Pakistan’s travel and tourism industries with special emphasis on the hospitality sector.
Mehr Tarar, an internationally renowned journalist, spoke in length about the significance of tourism in promoting a soft image of Pakistan based on our unmatched landscape, rich heritage, cultural diversity and hospitable culture.
A very famous socialite, philanthropist and ex-politician from Lahore – Mr. Yousuf Salahuddin was also a part of this session. In his address, he stipulated upon the importance of such kind of events in honing the economy of Pakistan and instilling a positive image of the country worldwide.
