KARACHI: Mövenpick Hotel Karachi is a socially responsible organisation that believes in supporting social causes that can benefit the area and people of the city. Recently the hotel developed exclusive internship opportunities for the individuals enrolled in TVET Reform programme. TVET Reform Programme has been established by the government to provide skill based training to individuals in order to meet demands of labour market.

The General Manager, Mr. Mirza Mansoor along with the Learning and Development Manager, Ms. Shaheen Lasi designed an internship program for the students enrolled in hospitality cook diploma. ‘‘We wanted to extend support by providing a chance to these students to work in one of our most important skill based teams i.e. our restaurant kitchen team where these students would get practical experience to prepare themselves for the professional world‘‘, explained Mr. Mirza Mansoor, General Manager for the hotel.

The hotel has developed an internship program where five students of the TVET Reform would be working for a duration of one month in its kitchen department learning different specialty dishes, cutting and decorating skills, order taking, order processing to name a few.

The hotel is pleased to extend the support and believes that variation of skills in the workforce of the city is very important to boost the respective skill based job and an opportunity to employ maximum candidates.

“We are happy to play our part in supporting education which in turn would create more jobs and would benefit the economy of our country. I am happy that skill based jobs are getting the due importance which will improve the labour market. I feel that every corporate entity should play its part in lending a helping hand to improve the educational landscape of our city”, concluded Mr. Mirza Mansoor, General Manager, Mövenpick Hotel Karachi.
