PESHAWAR: The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) participated at the ‘FITUR Spain’ show to boost tourism and promote the soft image of Pakistan.
FITUR, being one of the main events for the tourism industry worldwide and the leading trade show, is already working on configuring a top-level business space, with the best tools, to allow professionals from the world of tourism to successfully confront the challenges the industry presents at this time.
This event showcases products like tour operators, travel agencies, carrier companies, representatives of hotels and other forms of lodging facilities, leisure and culture contractors, residential tourism firms, travel media representatives, government officials, representatives of tourism boards, members of trade associations and students of training institutes, etc in the railway, shipping, and aviation, travel and tourism industries.
The TCKP is participating in the five-day show as per Prime Minister Imran Khan and KP Tourism Minister Atif Khan to boost tourism by luring more and more tourists to Pakistan and promote the soft image of the country worldwide.
The TCKP Managing Director Junaid Khan briefed the visitors at the stall installed by the KP Tourism Department about the projects and facilities being undertaken by the provincial government for the promotion of the tourism sector.
Pakistan Ambassador to Spain Khayam Akbar visited the stalls and praised the organizers for the endeavors to promote tourism and soft image of the country.
Junaid Khan said that 2020 has been declared as the year of tourism in Pakistan for which many projects have been launched to boost the sector.
He said there are an immense growth and investment potential in the tourism sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “Our main objective is to attract a larger number of foreign tourists to the country and to explore the most scenic province internationally,” he added.
Our province is a peaceful destination for foreigners and is blessed with exotic valleys and unique rich culture and tradition said the official.
Keeping in view the importance of Pakistan’s delegation participated in the International Tourism Trade Fair, the show is encouraging international tour operators to bring cultural and mountaineering expeditions to Pakistan.
It will highlight Pakistan as one of the best tourist destinations for international tourists.
Junaid Khan said that TCKP making strenuous efforts to promote tourism & culture in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that the province is blessed with rich tourism resorts, rivers, springs, green fields, and mountains and other scenic spots.
The delegation at FITUR, Spain presented some projects of investment for the promotion of sustainable tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including a number of long as well as short term projects.
The TCKP stall was set up with promotional items such as brochures, travel guides about different tourist and cultural destinations, postcards, posters.
The promotional items were distributed among the visitors while documentaries about the KP scenic places were screened to appraise the visitors of tourism potential.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Karachi tour operators were also present at Pakistan stall.
