Highest Hotel Rooms | Las Vegas Leads, Dubai Ranks 9th Globally

Dubai: Visiting Dubai; you shouldn’t have to worry about finding an accommodation.
According to a new study by ‘Insider Monkey’ a travel site, the emirate has one of the
highest number of hotel rooms in the world. Dubai has 100,000 hotel rooms available
for visiting guests, the ninth highest globally and similar to New York and Chicago.

The cities with the most hotel rooms are Las Vegas (152,000), Orlando (150,000), Paris
(140,000) and Barcelona (120,000).

“It’s pretty much guaranteed that if you want to visit one of these places, you’re sure to
find a great place to stay,” the site said.

“Dubai is full of beautiful locations, like the Palm Islands (which are shaped like a palm
when viewed from above) and the Burj Khalifa, a 160-storey skyscraper,” the travel site
said.

The average daily rate at hotels across the UAE had earlier dropped by 8 per cent in
January, a trend that has been attributed to rising competition brought on by an
abundant room supply.

According to hoteliers, the UAE continues to attract a good number of tourists, but
demand growth is simply not keeping pace with the rapid expansion in inventory.

The country’s hotel sector has recently seen new properties opening up, with at least
5,500 rooms entering the Dubai market since the beginning of 2016. Budget
accommodations, as well as other properties advertised on AirBNB, are also pushing
some hoteliers to offer competitive prices.
