NEW YORK: According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Dubai flag carrier Emirates has announced that it has served 289m passengers in 2017, the company said. The first three positions have been held by US carriers American Airlines (324 million), Delta Air Lines (316.3 million) and United Airlines (311 million). TORONTO: Biman Bangladesh Airlines has ordered three new Bombardier Q400 turboprops after signing a purchase agreement with the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC). BANGKOK: Thailand expects to select a consortium by January to build a 225 billion baht ($6.9 billion) high-speed rail link connecting three international airports, one of the largest transport projects in its history. The agency overseeing the plan, the Eastern Economic Corridor Office, aims to make as much progress on the project as possible ahead of elections due from February next year, said its Secretary General Kanit Sangsubhan.
