ISLAMABAD: On Monday, 4 February the Federal government approved the formation of a 25-member National Tourism Coordination Board (NTCB) for the promotion of tourism in the country. The decision, taken during the meeting of the Tourism Task Force chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, was aimed at promoting tourism, enhancing coordination between federation and provinces, formulating provincial regulatory framework, and highlighting other objectives including the promotion of the country’s tourism at an international level. KARACHI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to expand its flight operations to three more routes from February 19. As per details, the PIA to operate two a week flights from Peshawar to Sharjah from February 19 onwards. Among two other routes that are being revived include, Peshawar-Alain and Multan-Sharjah for which flights will be operated twice a week. BRUSSELS: Turkmenistan Airlines have been banned from flying over European airspace by the EASA due to concerns over safety standards. Thousands of passengers have been left stranded after a budget airline with routes between the UK and India was blacklisted for safety reasons. BERLIN: German holiday airline Germania collapsed on Tuesday, 5 February, after it failed to secure financing to meet a short-term cash squeeze and said it would cancel all flights immediately.
