KARACHI:  As part of the ongoing “World Culture Festival Karachi,” the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi celebrated the 24th day of the event with the inauguration of a 6-day “Sindh Artists Exhibition” at the Ahmed Pervez Art Gallery. The exhibition, showcasing the works of 82 artists from across Sindh, was inaugurated by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, alongside Sindh Provincial Culture Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah and President of the Arts Council, Muhammad Ahmed Shah.

Governor Kundi praised the Arts Council and the Sindh Culture Department for their efforts in promoting culture. He emphasized that culture is a powerful tool in promoting peace and combating extremism, urging the promotion of cultural activities over protests. He commended the festival’s impact in enhancing Pakistan’s global image and attracting international visitors.

Provincial Culture Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah echoed these sentiments, highlighting the significance of cultural diplomacy and the role of festivals in promoting peace and understanding. Shah announced plans to collaborate with the Arts Council to host cultural festivals in other cities, including Peshawar. He further praised the festival’s reach, with over 40 countries participating, and applauded the diverse range of artists on display.

President of the Arts Council, Muhammad Ahmed Shah, expressed his gratitude to the Governor for his support and underscored the importance of cultural initiatives for the country’s development. He highlighted the Arts Council’s commitment to fostering cultural engagement across Pakistan, with plans to host the Pakistan Literature Festival nationwide. He also noted that the “World Culture Festival” was set to break records as one of the longest cultural festivals, reinforcing the role of art in promoting national unity.

The exhibition will run until October 24, featuring notable works by renowned artists such as Farrukh Shahab, Masood A. Khan, and many more. This event not only celebrates Sindh’s rich artistic heritage but also emphasizes the power of art in promoting peace and cultural understanding across Pakistan.
