KARACHI: Pakistan Travel Mart’s Introductory Session was held at Movenpick Hotel Karachi on 1st March 2017. The Top management of local and international airlines, travel agencies, Hajj & Umrah operators, hotels, business community and senior government officials attended the session.
Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) is an annual international travel and tourism expo to be held from 24th-26th November 2017 at Expo Center Karachi. Bukhari Group & Landmark Communications are organizing the Mart.
Speaking on the occasion Muhammad Rafiq Khan, Chairman Bukhari Group said that Tourism is vital for forging friendships, creating a better understanding between people of different countries, religions and regions.
He stated that the fact of the matter is that People of our north and in Azad Jammu and Kashmir want to see the Silver sand beaches of Sindh and Baluchistan and people of this side want to see mountains, lakes, rivers, snowfall and springs etc. in the north. So, our cumulative focus should be on developing Domestic Tourism pursuing which will polish up and expand our infrastructure and tourism superstructure which will perforce pull foreign tourists ultimately.
He added that established domestic tourism is prerequisite for international tourism and Pakistan Travel Mart will provide good opportunity to promote Pakistan as a peaceful tourism destination.
The event shall promote the tourism potential of Pakistan and attract international tourists into Pakistan. Pakistan Travel Mart shall integrate, consolidate and globalize Pakistan’s travel industry by providing a platform to all the stakeholders.
Leading airlines, travel agencies, Hajj &Umrah operators, hotels, tour operators, technology partners and online booking companies shall exhibit in this expo. Various renowned international travel and tourism companies have also been invited to exhibit at Pakistan Travel Mart. International travel companies have shown their immense interest to exhibit at Pakistan Travel Mart and explore business opportunities in Pakistan’s travel and tourism industry.
Pakistan’s business community, through FPCCI, has also been taken onboard for Pakistan Travel Mart in order to attract more local investment in travel and tourism sector. International business chambers and groups have also been approached so that foreign investment can be solicited into Pakistan’s travel and tourism industry.
Mr. Yahya Polani, Chairman Polani Group and Mr. Hanif Rinch, Chairman Shirazi Travels also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of tourism for the Socio-economical development and soft image building of Pakistan.
The organizers said that they strongly believe that Pakistan has a very bright economic future especially because of China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Pakistan’s tourism potential is already globally acknowledged. Tourism can contribute a lot to further strengthen Pakistan’s economy and improve its international image. Pakistan Travel Mart is the biggest step towards achieving that objective. The organizers urge everyone to join hands and participate in Pakistan Travel Mart.
