PTDC & Discover Pakistan TV | Sign MoU to Promote Tourism in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and Discover Pakistan TV signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here on Friday for the promotion of tourism in Pakistan and abroad.

Managing Director, PTDC, Aftab-ur Rehman Rana signed the MoU on behalf of PTDC while Dr. Kaiser Rafiq, CEO signed from Discover Pakistan TV. Through the MoU, both the organizations agreed to join hands to organize various promotional activities and initiatives to promote image of Pakistan as a tourist friendly destination at national and international level.

The MoU also focuses on creation of high quality digital content on tourist destinations of Pakistan, promotion of responsible and sustainable tourism through awareness campaign via digital and electronic media and engagement of national and international travel villagers to promote Pakistan as tourist destination. Moreover, it highlights the commitment of both the parties to continue the National Tourism Awards of Excellence as an annual high level affair to acknowledge the efforts of industry stakeholders for the promotion and development of tourism in Pakistan.

MD, PTDC, Aftab ur Rehman Rana on this occasion said, “PTDC being a national tourism organization is utilizing all its resources to promote tourism in the country and facilitate both the local and foreign tourists. He said, our vision is to bring economic prosperity in the country especially in the far-flung areas through the promotion of tourism”.

He expected that this MoU will further strengthen these efforts through the use of electronic media. He also appreciated the role of Discover Pakistan TV which has established its reputation as the only TV channel of Pakistan which is dedicatedly promoting the positive image of the country as a high potential tourist destination.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Kaiser Rafiq, CEO of Discover Pakistan affirmed that this collaboration between Discover Pakistan and PTDC will be greatly beneficial for the promotion of tourism in Pakistan. He said PTDC is a national body and playing a very active role for the tourism promotion in Pakistan and the collaboration between both the organizations under this MoU will greatly help to devise a unified strategy for the promotion and development of the tourism sector of Pakistan and also enhance foreign exchange earnings through the promote of foreign tourism in Pakistan.
