The airport will as the primary base of the national flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), which recently got its own rebranding with the depiction of the Markhor on its fleet.

On Thursday 12 April, adviser to The Prime Minister on Aviation Division Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan inaugurated Pakistan’s largest and most advanced fuel farm facility at the New Islamabad International Airport, which was developed jointly by Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Attock Petroleum Limited.

“We appreciate the efforts of PSO and Attock Petroleum to serve the aviation industry by setting up this huge, state-of-the-art fuel farm facility. This shows some serious commitment from both players to their mission of ensuring seamless fuel supply to the aviation sector,” the adviser said.

The facility’s smooth operation will be ensured by the offloading bays that are equipped with 600 USGPM pumps, a storage capacity of 10,000 tons with three vertical tanks, a 3,600 USGPM product pumping system and highly advanced refueling equipment comprising eight hydrants.

Speaking on the occasion, PSO Managing Director Sheikh Imranul Haque took pleasure in launching the country’s largest and most advanced fuel farm facility at the largest and most advanced airport of Pakistan.

“PSO stays committed to its mission of ensuring seamless supply of quality fuel products to every corner and industry of the country which we will continue to pursue with great fervour,” he said.
