Mr. Hassan Baig | New DG CAA Visits Islamabad New Airport

KARACHI: Mr. Hassan Baig has assumed the charge of Director General CAA in addition to his own duties in Aviation Division. Mr. Baig did his Mphil in Economics from Quaid-e-Azam University. He has served at various top positions in civil services of Pakistan. Prior to joining Aviation Division he was serving as Additional Secretary Ministry of Kashmir affairs & Gilgit Baltistan.

Last week Mr. Hassan Baig visited Islamabad International Airport and inspected the different areas and facilities of Airport. He said that cleanliness of all areas of airport should be ensured at any cost. He also emphasized that Airport management should facilitate and help Passengers. More help desks should be established. For the guidance of passengers, he directed Airport Management to place more signage in different areas of terminal building. Provision of clean water and food in different areas of airport should also be ensured.

In order to meet transport needs of passengers, transport arrangements should be coordinated with relevant bodies. During his visit, He asked Airport management to put more chairs in departure and meter greeter’s areas for the convenience of passengers. In this regard, DG CAA reiterated his resolve to establish world class service standards at newly opened capital airport of Pakistan.

Mr. Hassan Baig also visited Headquarter Civil Aviation Authority after assuming charge of DG CAA. He held meeting with senior management of CAA including Additional DG, Deputy DGs, Directors here in Karachi. In his opening address, he asked senior management to collaborate and work as a team to make CAA a progressive and dynamic organization. He further said that we need to make all out efforts to transform CAA into one of the best Civil Aviation Authorities of region. In this regard, he said that performance of each Directorate, core and non-core functions, will be evaluated on the basis of Key performance indicators. He asked CAA management to prepare annual and quarterly tasks and targets of each Directorate so that progress towards organization goals could be measured. All CAA Directors assured DGCAA of their best possible cooperation for the betterment of organization. DG CAA also emphasized capacity building of each Directorate through HR trainings and technology upgrade.
