KP Culture & Tourism Authority | Govt. Constitutes The Board of Directors

PESHAWAR: Last week the government of Khyber   Pakhtunkhwa constituted the very first board of directors of newly formed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture & Tourism Authority (KPCTA). The authority has replaced Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) through an amendment in law passed by the provincial assembly of KP.

Earlier in February 2019, the cabinet of KP approved the proposed KP Tourism Act, 2019, which subsequently presented in the provincial assembly for the consent. The bill proposed to dissolve the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) and directorate of culture, and formed the KP Culture &  Tourism Authority in their place.

As per the notification, the minister for sports, tourism, archaeology, culture, youth affairs and museums department will be the Chairman of the board of directors                                                       Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture & Tourism Authority (KPCTA).

The board have fifteen other members seven from private sector and eight from government side, including additional chief secretary, planning & development, secretary sports, tourism, archaeology, culture, youth affairs and museums department, secretary finance department, secretary   local government, election &   rural development, secretary environment, wildlife & forest department, secretary irrigation, secretary communications & works department government of Khyber   Pakhtunkhwa and Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa culture & Tourism Authority.

Whereas Mr. Zulfiqar Ali, Dr. Roohullah, Ms. Shumaila Tabassum, Ms. Ayesha Bano, Ms. Rabia Amin, Syed Salman Saadat Kakakhel, Mr. Maqsood ul Mulk are from private sector.
