When I begin writing about my recent experience in Seychelles, I realize that I am not just describing a place, but a piece of my heart that I left behind in another world. It’s rare for me to feel this way, but Seychelles is one of those destinations that truly captivates the soul. From breathtaking landscapes to the warmest people, pristine beaches to thrilling cliffside hikes, sea excursions to hidden nature treasures, and mouthwatering cuisine to unparalleled hospitality—Seychelles offers it all. As the CEO & Founder of VagaTales and Bureau Chief of Islamabad Holiday Weekly, I feel truly blessed to have been invited by the Seychelles Tourism Department to explore this paradise.
An archipelago of 115 islands, with its three largest gems being Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. The capital, Victoria, is a charming and peaceful city, home to diverse religious landmarks, including churches, temples, and mosques. One of the most heartwarming aspects of Seychelles is its social fabric. The people here are so closely connected that a five-minute walk with our tour guides often turned into a fifteen-minute stroll—filled with spontaneous greetings and cheerful conversations.
With a population of over 130,000, Seychelles thrives on tourism, which makes up 75% of its economy, followed by fishing and rum exports. While some may confuse Seychelles with destinations like the Maldives or Thailand, let me tell you—Seychelles is beyond just an island getaway. It’s a treasure trove of mental, physical, and spiritual experiences that will leave you wondering: Why wasn’t I born here instead of just visiting?

Kayaking in a Transparent Glass Boat – A once-in-a-lifetime experience, not to be missed.
A Tortoise Paradise – From tiny hatchlings to giant century-old tortoises, you’ll find them chilling on almost every island. Culinary Delights – Both men and women are incredible chefs here, and I had the opportunity to learn some delicious Seychelles recipes.
Handicraft Making – I even got a chance to craft a hat from coconut leaves! Unmatched Hospitality – The warmth and kindness of the Seychellois people are beyond expectations. Breathtaking Beaches – Grand Anse and Anse Source d’Argent quickly became my all-time favorites. Marine Park Trekking – Walking through mangrove trails in a protected natural reserve was an unforgettable experience.
Seychelles is not just a place; it’s a feeling, a story, and a lifelong memory. Summarizing this dream-like experience in just a few words is nearly impossible.
