CAIRO: Egypt’s tourism revival looks very positive and encouraging as its receipts almost tripled and worker remittances rose in the last three months of its fiscal year, marking another step in the country’s economic recovery from a crippling dollar shortage. Tourism revenue of Egypt rose to $1.5 billion in the fourth quarter that ended June 30, from $510 million in the same period a year ago, according to the central bank of Egypt. DUBAI:  Etihad Airways said on Tuesday,  it is withdrawing financial support for German budget carrier airberlin and will not offer further funding to the struggling carrier, which filed for insolvency on Tuesday, August 15. Filing for administration is similar to bankruptcy, and effectively means a company’s management is passed on to a different party, usually a court-appointed administrator. In a statement, Etihad said that as a minority shareholder in airberlin it could not offer funding that would further increase its financial exposure. DUBAI: India and UAE are working on a new agreement and policy for the bilateral air services by virtue of that agreement travel between the both countries may become more affordable and accessible. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that global passenger traffic data for June showed that demand for flights rose by 7.8% compared with the same period last year. This was in line with the 7.7% growth recorded in May, with all regions reporting growth for the period.
