Ancient Artifacts | Balochistan Gets back From Sindh

QUETTA: A large number of ancient artifacts dating back to centuries, including elegant and sophisticated pottery, Seals, coins, stones and beads which were lying in exploration branch of National Museum Karachi for many decades have finally been retrieved from Sindh.

Secretary Culture and Tourism Zafar Ali Buledi in a statement said that it was a landmark achievement of present government that under the leadership of Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan and Minister for Culture and Tourism Abdul Khaliq Hazara, it got back a large number of artifacts which were lying in exploration branch in Sindh. These are from different archaeological sites of Balochistan.

He said that with continues efforts of the present government and coordination with Sindh government; all artifacts were in our hands adding that the objects retrieved are 2000 to 6000 years old.

“The total number of artifacts is 20675 which include figurine (male, female and animal), elegant and sophisticated pottery, seals, coins, stone tools and beads,” Zafar Buledi said.

He said that retrieved artifacts would be placed in a museum for general public which hopefully will generate huge revenue and promote culture and tourism in the province.
