KARACHI: On Friday, August 17, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi celebrated the 73rd Independence Day.
Karachi based all members of Indonesian Community, Indonesian Students, the staff of the Indonesian Consulate General and their families attended the event with great zeal and enthusiasm. A number of Pakistanis friends were also invited to attend the ceremony.
The Consul General of Republic of Indonesia His Excellency Totok Prianamto in his address threw the light on the Independence struggle that martyred hundreds of Indonesian Heroes in fighting for their sovereignty. A smart group of Indonesian Youth, in equally smart and beautiful Indonesian uniformed official hoisted the National Flag of Indonesian and sung the Indonesian National Anthem.
Speaking at the ceremony, Indonesian Consul General said that while celebrating the Independence Day in Pakistan, he would also like to take this opportunity to convey warm greetings to the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who also celebrated their Independence Day on the 14th August.
