ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has received its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, a leased aircraft that arrived in Islamabad from London as flight PK786, the national flag carrier’s spokesperson said.
The aircraft is the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to join the fleet of any airline in Pakistan, marking a step towards modernising PIA’s fleet and strengthening its international network.
PIA Chief Executive Officer Air Vice Marshal Aamir Hayat, accompanied by his team, welcomed the aircraft upon its arrival at Islamabad International Airport.
The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is equipped with modern technology, including an in-flight entertainment system, and features a spacious cabin designed to provide passengers with a more comfortable travel experience.
The aircraft’s induction is part of PIA’s broader strategy to upgrade its fleet and enhance its international operations, according to the spokesperson.
The national carrier aims to improve passenger services by introducing modern aircraft and providing a more comfortable flying experience in line with international standards.
