KARACHI: Centrum Air has officially commenced direct, non-stop flights between Karachi and Tashkent, marking an important milestone in strengthening air connectivity between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

The inaugural flight departed from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, on September 3, marking the beginning of the new international service. The launch was commemorated with an inauguration ceremony hosted by Gerry’s dnata, bringing together distinguished representatives from Gerry’s Group, Centrum Air, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan.

The ceremony was graced by H.E. Mr. Alisher Tukhtaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Mr. Arshad Wali Muhammad, Group Director, Gerry’s Group; Mr. Adilmirza Khalmirzaev, Head of Agents Relations Department, Centrum Air; and Mr. Ken Marshal, Chief Operating Officer, Gerry’s International, alongside other distinguished guests and aviation industry representatives.

The inauguration featured a traditional water cannon salute, followed by ceremonial celebrations with the dignitaries, cockpit crew, and operational teams. The occasion highlighted the successful collaboration between the partners in establishing this new international air connection.

With two direct, non-stop flights per week, the Karachi–Tashkent route will provide passengers with a convenient travel option between Pakistan and Uzbekistan while supporting stronger economic, commercial, and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

The new connection is expected to facilitate greater opportunities for business, tourism, trade, cultural exchange, and bilateral travel, while further enhancing Pakistan’s connectivity with the wider Central Asian region.

The launch of Centrum Air’s Karachi–Tashkent service reflects the growing potential for stronger aviation and commercial ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. It also contributes to broader efforts to promote regional connectivity and create greater opportunities for travel, trade, and cultural exchange.

As the new route begins operations, the partnership between Centrum Air and Gerry’s Group will support increased travel and exchange between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, creating new opportunities for passengers, businesses, and communities while contributing to stronger regional connectivity.
