KP Tourism Deptt Launches | First-Ever Mobile App To Facilitate Tourists

PESHAWAR: Provincial Senior Minister for Sports, Tourism, Archaeology, Culture, Museums and Youth Affairs Department Muhammad Atif Khan on Wednesday inaugurated the of first-ever mobile App and tourism logo to facilitate domestic and foreign tourists during their visit to scenic places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Chairman National Tourism Board Zulfi Bukhari, Member Provincial Assembly Muhammad Asif, Joint Secretary Prime Minister’s Secretariat Tariq Khan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Iftikhar Durrani, Secretary KP Tourism Department Kamran Rahman, Additional Secretary Babar Khan, Tourism Corporation Managing Director Junaid Khan, Project Director Tausif Khalid, Director General Sports Afandyar Khattak, officials of Wold Bank and others attended the function.

Speaking on the occasion, the senior minister said that the promotion of tourism in the province had been started with the launching of mobile App while more projects were in pipeline to boost the sector.

“During the current stint of five-year  government, we will make strenuous efforts to attract 10 million foreign tourists to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to fetch 10 billion dollars to the province,” vowed Atif Khan.

Later, the senior minister inaugurated mobile App, buses for tourists and tourism logo. A documentary on tourist resorts was also screened.

Chairman National Tourism Board Zulfi Bukhari also spoke on the occasion and termed the launching of mobile App a big step forward for the promotion of tourism in KP.

The launching of mobile App is aimed at introducing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a tourism brand to the world to attract more tourists and visitors to the province.

The tourists now with a single click on the mobile App can get data regarding tour operators, hotels, restaurants booking, trekking and backpacking spots, tourist resorts, lakes, weather condition, archaeological, adventure, religious and cultural tourism sites, contact numbers of relevant department in case of emergencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and plan their trip at home before leaving for a particular destination as well.

The App also guides tourists to the land of hospitality – the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gifted by Nature with abundant natural beauty of lush green valleys, snow-capped mountains, deserts, rivers, landscapes, roads, petrol pumps, rich cultural heritage and archaeological sites, springs, waterfalls, streams, Buddhism ruins and serene spots.

The mobile App brings tourist to the most convenient platform to enhance their travel experience. The platform offers a holistic insights for travel planning, tour packages, attractions, points of interest, blogs, cities and much more with navigational assistance.

Tourists can rapidly discover nearby attractions so that they do not miss any part of the gem that is the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Every year, millions of tourists from all over the country and across the globe visit the province to experience and enjoy the beauty it has to offer. Above all, over 75 percent of tourist destinations, archaeological and heritage sites and Buddhism ruins are located here in this part of the country.

It also offers a complete social media component that lets visitors interact with other tourists and allows tourists to share their experiences.

It allows tourists to contribute to the App through a quick and free sign-up process and aims at being a crowd sourced tourism platform.

The App is completely free and users-friendly with a number specification.
