NEW YORK: American Airlines Group has reported pre-tax earnings for the third quarter, excluding net special items, of $688 million.The figure is a $485 million decrease from the third quarter of 2017, driven by higher fuel prices. ISLAMABAD: Following the recent increase in oil prices and depreciation of rupees against the US dollar, monthly operational losses of the national flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have recorded phenomenal increase of about two billion rupees, sources said on Thursday. “These factors are contributing to monthly losses, in addition to PIA’s liabilities to the tune of Rs400 billion, making it nearly impossible for the management to bring a turnaround in its business plans,” the sources in the Aviation Division said. HELSINKI: Flydubai has inaugurated its new daily service to Helsinki, Finland, becoming the first national carrier for the UAE to offer direct flights from Dubai. The inaugural flight departed yesterday from Terminal 2, Dubai International Airport (DXB) and landed at Helsinki Airport (HEL) just before midnight. ISLAMABAD: The Ministry for Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) has been informed about the formation of new policy in the light of the instructions from Prime Minister Imran Khan for promotion of tourism in the county and provision of facilities of international standards to local and foreign tourists.
