WASHINGTON: Pakistani ambassador to the United States Asad Majeed Khan has said that the new visa policy is aimed at promoting religious tourism in Pakistan. Addressing an Iftar dinner at the Pakistani embassy in Washington, the ambassador said Pakistan has demonstrated religious harmony by opening Kartarpur corridor. LONDON: British Airways will relaunch flights to Islamabad, Pakistan, from June 2nd. The three-per-week service will be operated on a three-class Boeing Dreamliner. The 787 is British Airways’ newest long-haul aircraft that is 20 per cent more fuel efficient than other aircraft and features larger windows, mood lighting and the latest inflight entertainment system. Airbus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SAS Scandinavian Airlines for hybrid and electric aircraft eco-system and infrastructure requirements research. The MoU was signed by Grazia Vittadini, Chief Technology Officer, Airbus and Göran Jansson, Deputy President EVP Strategy & Ventures, Scandinavian Airlines. Collaboration will start in June 2019 and will continue until the end of 2020. ISLAMABAD: In line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s move to promote tourism in the country, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has started development works for Swat, Chitral and Parachinar airports. Sources said the Swat airport will be made operational at a cost of Rs80 million while the development work will be completed within two months.
