CANBERRA: Australia’s hotel industry, spared from government lockdown measures that came into effect midday on March 23, are still facing a bleak future amid Covid-19 impacts. ISLAMABAD: Dubai: In a major move, the Federal government of Pakistan has decided to outsource its all major airports in a bid to bring services up to the international standards. In the first phase, three international airports in main cities including Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi will be outsourced. BANGKOK: The Thai Government has sold a 3.2% stake in national carrier THAI Airways according to a filing listed with the SEC on Friday, May 22. The stake of 69.2 million shares was sold to the Vayupak 1 mutual fund run by Krung Thai Bank. ISLAMABAD: SereneAir, Pakistan’s fastest-growing domestic airlines in private sector, after getting International Charter License from CAA Pakistan, operated its maiden international cargo flight transporting COVID-19 medical supplies to Dhaka (DCA) via Nanjing (NKG) on the 23rd of May 2020. CANBERRA: Australia has extended the ban on cruise ship operations for another three months amid the Covid-19 pandemic. In a statement, the Australian Border Force said that all cruise ships capable of carrying more than 100 passengers are prohibited from operating in Australian waters until 17 September. The decision comes after Australian Governor-General David Hurley announced the extension of the human biosecurity emergency period from 17 June to 17 September.
