KARACHI: COTHM Pakistan & Dubai has launched the School of Health & Food Safety. The launching ceremony was held on Wednesday, 17 April, at Regent Plaza Karachi. A large gathering of professionals from the education, food processing, hotels, restaurants and public sectors attended the ceremony.
Mr Richard A. Sprenger, Chairman of Highfield UK, was the Chief Guest and the Key Note Speaker on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the role of COTHM in taking lead to introduce health & food safety trainings, qualifications and compliance standards in Pakistan; He highlighted the importance of health and food safety qualifications in modern context.
Among the honorable guests were Professor Dr. Syed Asad Sayeed Chairman Department of Food Science & Technology University of Karachi, Mr. Masroor Ahmed Sheikh Chairman Sindh Board of Technical Education, Mr. Kaukab Iqbal Chairman Consumer Association of Pakistan, Dr. Rafiq khanani, Mr. Umar Mukhtar Head of Food & Marine Division PCSIR, Dr. Shahana Urooj Qazmi, Dean Faculty of Science & Technology DIHE, Mr. Abdul Raheem sheikh DG NAVTTC Sindh and other guests who talked on the importance of food and safety issues.
By the end of the event Mr. Sabir Ahmed Executive Director COTHM Karachi paid special thanks to the guests for being part of this occasion, he also paid special thanks to Mr. Richard Anthony Sprenger from UK and Mr. Ahmed Shafiq from Lahore who came especially for the inauguration ceremony of health & food safety program launched by COTHM Karachi.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ahmad Shafiq, CEO COTHM Pakistan & Dubai, said that we have reached a significant milestone in the history of our institution and are embarking on a new journey as well. He thanked the experts and professionals from various sectors for attending launch ceremony. He expressed his resolve to introduce international standards of health and food safety in Pakistan,
The launch of school of health and food safety is need of the time and as always COTHM has took this initiative for the first time in Pakistan.
