KARACHI: Thai food festival, showcasing authentic Thai cuisine spread over many dishes, will commence from Friday, April 5th and will continue till April 28th 2019 at Beach Luxury Hotel.

It will open from 7: 30 P.M. to 11: 30 P.M on last three days of a week (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays). Food lovers from across the country have an opportunity to enjoy authentic Thai Food in Karachi. Consul General of Thailand in Karachi His Excellency Thatree Chauvachata and General Manager of Beach Luxury Hotel, Muhammad Azeem Qureshi on Thursday, April 4, inaugurated the Thai Food Festival at the hotel. Thai Deputy Consul General Apipan Cheechroon and Thai guest Chef were also present at the ceremony.

The event has been organized by Royal Thai Consulate and Thai Airways International in collaboration with Avari Hotels Group.

Thai Consul General said that Thai food is something that all visitors to Thailand do enjoy, and for locals, our national cuisine is a passion. Food production and dining plays a huge part in Thailand’s economy and tourism sector and deserves to be celebrated on an international level.

He thanked Avari Hotels Group for supporting in organizing the food festival and that such events really mattered to bring two nations closer.  Thai food is famous in the world.

He praised the hospitality of Pakistani people and hoped the bilateral relations would further strengthen over the passage of time. Thai Consul General appreciated the initiatives being taken by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan; especially for development of tourism.   There were many tourism sites in Pakistan mainly in

Northern areas and Sindh, he said.

“Pakistan is back on the track,” he remarked.

BLH’s General Manager Muhammad Azeem Qureshi said this long Thai food festival  would feature authentic cuisine from different parts of Thailand. Flavorful Som Tum, Yum Nua, Tom Yum Gung and many other delicious cooking arts would treat the guests at the Thai buffet spread.

From starters to soups to main courses and desserts, the food festival would highlight mouth-watering Thai dishes to all the guests attending the festival. The visitors would also be entertained by special dance performance by troupe flown in from Thailand. They would perform on first three days.

He said last year Thai Food Festival held at Beach Luxury Hotel received very good response. Thai food is very much affordable for the general public, he said.

He said the local tourism was the asset/base of tourism industry in Pakistan. During the slowdown of foreign tourists over last few years, local tourism helped hotel industry to survive.

Pakistan has two special things known in the world. These are our culture and cuisine, Qureshi said.

He informed that Avari Hotels Group, under its expansion plan, was going to set up hotels and motels in different city of the country.

On this occasion, he shared the deliberations during the recent tourism summit in Islamabad made by different stakeholders including Hotel chains, and Federal and Provincial government’s representatives and concerned agencies for the promotion of tourism in Pakistan on the fast track.

He said the Prime Minister had formed Committees to work out and pursue the goal of rapid development of tourism in the country. One committee is headed by owner of Avari Hotels Group, Mr. Byram D. Avari. As a follow, the next meeting of the stakeholder, under the umbrella of Federal Ministry of Tourism, would be held on April 17, 2019 in Islamabad.
