A Travel Trade Senior | Rinch Elected Chairman IATA APJC-P

KARACHI: Muhammad Hanif Rinch, eminent Travel & Tourism Professional and Former Chairman Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (TAAP) and Vice Chairman APJC-P has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of IATA Agency Program Joint Council (APJC), Pakistan for the year 2019 in the Council’s 12th meeting held on 7th May 2019 Chaired by Honorable Mr. Nausherwan Adil, General Manger Industry Affairs PIA. The Meeting was attended by the

Aseven member Delegates each from National Association TAAP representing Travel/Tour Operators and IATA members BSP Airlines representatives. Mr. Prabaharan Nadarajah, Assistant Director Agency Management, Asia Pacific, Singapore and representative of International Chartered Accountant firm the Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) also attended the meeting.

The outgoing Chairman handed over the Charge to Mr. Hanif Rinch. Mr. Rinch stated that APJC Pakistan’s charter aims to improve industry co-operation; monitors efficient operations of agency program and identifies, defines and addresses the issues that arise from key activities and prepare recommendations with due-diligence on matters related to ongoing IATA agency program in the country He was of the view that the APJC Pakistan forum must be transparent having harmony to contribute to significant business growth of both the airlines and the travel agents in Pakistan.

He emphasized that collective efforts of IATA airlines and Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (TAAP) were imperative to promote the country’s travel industry and address the relevant issues. He endeavored to make sincere efforts to uplift the travel industry of Pakistan by increasing co-operation for win-win situation to both the airlines and travel agents.

Mr. Rinch said that he as APJC Pakistan Chairman will try his level best to dispel misunderstandings between the airlines and travel agents and streamline commercial activities and make sure that determination, willingness and cordial relationship between travel agents and airlines shall prevail and lead to mutually beneficial results.

He also appreciated the IATA Pakistan-team led by its country manager Mustafa Khan for its considerations and co-operation realizing the culture and norms of business in Pakistan. He also conveyed his gratitude to the APJC Pakistan members from Airlines & TAAP for reposing confidence in him for appointing Chairman. He also recognized the services of outgoing APJC Chairman Mr Nausherwan Adil, GM Industry Affairs, PIA. He also presented compliments to Mr Prabaharan Nadarajah, Assistant Director, IATA Agency Management, Asia Pacific, Singapore.
