MUSCAT: Oman Air has announced that it will resume its service between Muscat and Malé, in the Maldives this October. Dubai: Retailers and the tourism industry have reacted positively to the announcement that visitors to the UAE will soon be able to claim back any value added tax (VAT) they are charged. On Wednesday, the UAE cabinet agreed to put in place a system that will allow tourists to receive refunds on the five per cent tax they pay on goods, starting from the fourth quarter of 2018. CHICAGO: Boeing is in the lead for aircraft orders this year, with the US plane maker’s aircraft orders more than doubling those of rival Airbus in the first half of the year. According to data released by Boeing, the US aircraft manufacturer has booked a total of 460 orders in the first six months, while Airbus has booked 206 jetliners. AMSTERDAM: Dutch airline KLM said it has decided to suspend its flights to Tehran for the time being “as a result of the negative results and financial outlook.” The airline, part of the Air France KLM group, made the announcement in a short statement on its website on Saturday (July 7). KLM said its last flight will leave Amsterdam on September 22 and return on September 23.
