BEIJING: China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism reports that 782 million domestic tourist trips made during the seven-day National Day holiday from October 1 to October 7. MOTEREAL: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has launched a campaign to expand the number of women employed aviation by 25 per cent over the next five years, with a particular focus on under-represented areas such as pilots and senior executives. NEW DELHI: The government will soon invite bids to sell its entire stake in Air India, after potential buyers baulked at an initial attempt to divest a partial stake in the national carrier. “The expression of interest document for Air India will be put out anytime now, at least before the end of this month. KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is expected to give freight subsidy on exports of fruits and vegetables. MUSCAT: Oman Air and Kenya Airways have expanded their codeshare cooperation, increasing the destinations available to guests. The carriers commenced their codeshare agreement, covering services between Muscat and Nairobi, in August 2017. The new deal will allow seamless connectivity to Oman Air guests travelling beyond Nairobi to Entebbe, Uganda, and Johannesburg in South Africa.
