LONDON: Prime minister Boris Johnson announced on October 12, a new three-tier lockdown system that will see some hospitality businesses in the North-West forced to close from Wednesday, October 14. ABU DHABI: Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has become the country’s first airline to implement electronic technical logs (eTech logs) for airline operations. ROME: UK visitors to Italy will have to provide a negative Covid test before being allowed into the country, Italian health authorities have confirmed. The test must be carried out within 72 hours of arrival. However, the Foreign Office said visitors may also have an option to obtain a test at Italian airports or at a testing facility ‘shortly after arriving in Italy’. IATA has warned more airlines will collapse over the coming months. Even by the end of this year, passenger traffic will still be down by about 68%, much worse than its previous forecast. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Wednesday announced a 15pc reduction in fares for its outbound flights to Canada.
