KARACHI: Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (TAAP) hosted a dinner to bid farewell to the outgoing General Manager Mr. Fatih Atacan Temel and welcome Mr. Gurhan Sozen the newly appointed General Manager of Turkish Airlines. H.E. Tolga UCAK, Consul General, H.E. Muhammet CELIK, Vice Consul of Turkish Consulate General Karachi, officials of foreign and domestic airlines, Travel Agents and Tour Operators attended the event.

Mr. Muhammad Nadeem Sharif, former Chairman TAAP and Vice Chairman Aroma Group of Companies warmly received the guests, eulogised the services and cooperation extended by Mr. Fatih Atacan Temel to the travel industry during his stay in Pakistan and he also warmly welcomed Mr. Gurhan Sozen as the new General Manager of Turkish Airlines in Pakistan and wished the relations to be further strengthened between Turkish Airlines and the travel industry of Pakistan.
Mr. Muhammad Yahya Polani, former Chairman TAAP and Chairman Polani’s Group termed this memorable event and appreciated the services of Mr. Fatih who extended his cooperation with the travel community while he said that in year 2017 approx. 77,000 Pakistani travelled to Turkey as the number in year 2000 visitors to Turkey from Pakistan was just 7,908 which reached to almost 21,000 in 2007, 50,000 in 2014 and ultimately 77,000 travellers visited Turkey from Pakistan. He appreciating Mr. Fatih Atacan Temel who informed that his airlines has recorded 352% growth in its corporate sales from Karachi achieved 34.50% revenue. Mr. Polani appreciating the services rendered to the travel trade of Pakistan which it is also expected that the new General Manager Mr. Gurhan Sozen to following the services to continue in same spirit.
Mr. Fatih thanked for the honour given and the memories, hospitality, love and affection of Pakistan brothers will remain with him.
Mr. Gurhan Sozen, newly General Manager thanked for his cordial welcome which he said made him more enthusiastic to follow his senior and continue his services.
H.E. Muhammet CELIK assured all possible cooperation to his Pakistani brothers to further development tourism between Pakistan and Turkey.
