WRITTEN BY CH. FAISAL MAHMOOD

With all the positive approach, positive thinking and positive writing which God gave us to do, we now find ourselves sad and disheartened by events.

Since the start of 2018 we were counting the good portents, which we expected to bear positively on our industry’s unfolding circumstances and we are expecting exceptionally a very successful summer tourism season. All positive news regarding Pakistan tourism were pouring in after a long span of more than 20 years when the tragic and disheartening news came from Quetta where at least 20 innocent Pakistani people lost their lives and 48 were left wounded, including four security forces personnel. The blast ripped through a crowded vegetable market in Quetta.

Similar tragic news came from Peshawar where a police officer was martyred in a shootout with terrorists’ group in Hayatabad, Peshawar. Police raided the neighborhood on a tip-off; where a group of terrorists were planning a big terrorist activity but our law enforcement agencies took time action.

Yet another horrifying terrorist took place on several buses travelling between Karachi and Gwadar in the remote Ormara area of Balochistan province in which at least 14 people were killed.

According to reports, the unidentified assailants intercepted the buses in Buzi Top area on the Coastal Highway around midnight and offloaded 16 of the three dozen people, after checking their identity cards.

How brutal can these men be? The answer is that they are brutes, they are beasts-not humans; the brainwashed Killers, Killers of our hopes, our dreams, our future, our peace, our prosperity, our tranquility and our beautiful, peace loving innocent citizens.

They can’t be Muslims, pretend as much as they may, by their long beards and short shalwars. For our foreign readers, let it be clear also that this is neither extremism nor religious intolerance; actually, Muslims of all hue live in exemplary harmony in all neighborhoods in all our cities, towns and villages; the proof thereof is that such provocative terror have always failed to flare up as designed by the terrorists.

Our country is in the grip of agents provocateurs – call them Indian terrorists, fundamentalists, islamists or talibans – they have nothing to do with Islam. Come to think of it! They have been killing Muslims, destroying Muslim heritage, Muslim properties, blowing up places of learning and of worship.

But their terrorizing has reached its height. And what goes up, must come down.

We are grieved and we salute the brave security Personals, the future of the nation. The Nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the Armed Forces of Pakistan and Law Enforcement Agencies to make Pakistan a peace loving, dynamic, progressive, moderate and democratic Islamic Country.

We convey sincere and deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the martyred in all tragedies and pray to Almighty Allah to bless all the departed souls. All crimes have their own built-in nemeses and Time is said to be a great healer. True, but Time also has its ways of strengthening and surfacing the rascal nemeses.
