The TAAP Management warmly welcomed the visitors’ team. At invitation of TAAP, H.E. Didier Talpain, Consul General of French Republic gracious the occasion. In his welcome address Mr. Muhammad Naeem Sharif, Chairman TAAP briefed that TAAP is the National Association of Travel and Tourism Industry duly registered with Federal Commerce Ministry, Govt. of Pakistan and aims to promote goodwill, harmony and mutual understanding with the Government and Foreign Counterparts to promote travel and tourism industry and safeguard the interest of its members. TAAP members across Pakistan are contributing towards Travel and Tourism Industry of Pakistan. TAAP maintains a strong presence, in the governmental circles and enjoys representation in councils and Advisory Board of important Federal and Provincial Ministries, Departments and Authorities.

The Travel Agents and Tour Operators had B2B meetings and shared their views for the promotion of reciprocal tourism between both countries and further exploration of necessary avenues.

After the 9/11 incident, the inbound tourism to Pakistan was hampered which is now improving and last year (2017) about 1.7 million foreign tourists visited Pakistan. As the Tourism Industry works on brand and repute as everyone won’t like to visit a country where he and his family is not safe but now in case of Pakistan this is a just blame due to the negative propaganda of its enemies. Recently Pakistan Government has allowed visa on arrival to 30 tourist friendly countries, including France, which will help to improve the confidence of foreign tourists and tarnish negative image of Pakistan that lurks in the minds of many foreign tourists.

The auspicious visit of Consul General of French Republic at Karachi as well as Tour Operators from France had deliberated fruit bearing interaction with the representatives of travel and tourism industry of Pakistan would certainly catalyse the promotion of the travel and tour sectors of both the countries.

While conveying his thanks for the heartiest welcome French Consul stated that such meetings would strengthen the bilateral economic relation and promoting tourism reciprocally between France and Pakistan.

Crests were presented by TAAP to Consul General and every member of the team.
