The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has completed an operational safety audit of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) different departments. A four-member team representing the group has been in Pakistan to inspect the carrier since Monday, September 7. The IATA team has been in Pakistan for the last five days to conduct a safety audit of PIA’s Different departments. Flight operation, safety and security, passenger service, and engineering were all inspected by the group. The team consisted of two people from the United Kingdom, an expert from Turkey, and another individual from Europe. An operational safety audit happens every two years.…

LONDON: Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave some hope today that the government’s ‘moonshot’ Covid-19 rapid mass testing proposal would allow a return to ‘normal life’, including the ability to travel. NEW YORK: The US is reportedly ending heightened coronavirus screening of inbound passengers at airports. According to a news, enhanced Covid-19 screening of international travelers will end on Monday, September 14. A Transportation Security Administration official said less than 15 passengers were positive for the virus out of the 675,000 passengers screened at airports. Passengers arriving from high-risk destinations to 15 designated airports have been checked since January, with temperature checks and requirements to provide medical history, current health conditions and contact information. KARACHI: Emirates reveals that it has returned over AED 5 billion (US$ 1.4 billion) in COVID-19 related travel refunds to date, making strong and steady progress on its commitment to customers to complete pending refunds. More than 1.4 million refunds requests have been completed since March, representing 90% of the airline’s backlog.
